NHS Complaints procedure
(from 1 April 2009)


Under the provisions of the National Health Service (Pharmaceutical Services) Regulations
2005
pharmacy contractors are required to make arrangements for the handling and
consideration of complaints. The PSNC has  provided a briefing of these procedures. Click here to download the PSNC briefing

 
PCT template business continuity plan and SLA's now available to download

The LPC has been working closely with the PCT's to ensure that enhanced service SLA's are easily accesible by local contractors.

NHS Nottinghamshire County has produced a template business continuity plan for pharmacies to use. We have also received updated enhanced service SLA's from all three Nottinghamshire PCTs.

Nottingham City PCT secures a further £422k for community pharmacy services
The LPC is delighted that Notingham City PCt has allocated a further £422,000 for community pharmacy enhanced services. The Phamracy development group which comprises 3 members of the LPC and members of the PCT Medicines Management Team will work hard to devlop new enhanced services that can be provided from community pharmacy. More MP visits at Nottinghamshire community pharmacies

Labour MP for Gedling Vernon Coaker along with the LPC Chair Robert Severn visited Manor Pharmacy in Gedling on 25th August 2009. Mr Coaker was supportive of the services provided by community pharmacy and its place in the local community.

Labour MP Graham Allen along with LPC Chief Officer Mohammed Ibrahim visited Mistry's Pharmacy in Top Valley. Mr Allen was supportive of the personal service provided to patients by Mr Dayaram Mistry. The visit was supported by customers and patients at Mistry's Pharmacy.


Labour MP for Sherwood, Paddy Tipping along with members of the LPC visited a branch of Burrows and Close Pharmacy in Calverton. Mr Tipping commented that “pharmacy has a great part to play as it has its finger on the pulse of the community” and was interested to learn more about services available.

Conservative MP for Newark and Retford, Patrick Mercer along with members of the LPC visited a Branch of Manor Pharmacy in  Newark. Mr Mercer was fascinated by the enhanced services offered by the pharmacy and said that he was grateful for pharmacy for this extra work.

The visits were organised by the LPC with a view to raising the profile of the multitude of enhanced services being offered at community pharmacies across Nottinghamshire. If you would like your pharmacy to be involved please contact Alison Ellis on secretary@nottinghamshireLPC.co.uk

In order to receive LPC meeting minutes you will be required to provide your pharmacy RPSGB registration number. The minutes will be sent to the pharmacy address registered with the RPSGB.

SWINE FLU UPDATE

Anti-viral collection
point closure

The number of people suffering with suspected swine flu has dropped to such a level that NHS Nottinghamshire County feel confident that it can close two anti-viral collection points (ACP) in Nottinghamshire. This will still provide a service for the small number of people that need Tamiflu. Balderton and Park House ACPs are to close. For more information please click here
City Weight Management Scheme a HUGE success
Another successful service from the city! The weight management scheme pilot is underway as early reports indicate that the service is going very well. Well done to all pilot pharmacies involved and lets hope that this is something that we will see being rolled out at all city pharmacies
County PCT - Pharmacy First Scheme
It is coming!!! Training for the County Minor ailments Scheme has already started in Highpoint and will be rolled out to all the other clusters over the next 9 months. Get ahead by completing the CPPE minor ailments scheme package now, so that you are already ready to provide the service  when the scheme reaches your business!!!

LPC ELECTIONS 2010
